is this a mistake? i can save export template as pdf. Only when it is automated will the images not be displayed.

Strange, it works ok for me. Make sure /tmp directory is writable.
Also check php error log on your server, probably some information will be here.

thanks for the tips, i checked them all, tmp is writable, error log no errors on the page. on log I only have that
